To
all friends and Associates of
Bishop Andreas Abouna
We
received the news of Abouna
Andraus's passing away at his
best active age and at a time he
is needed to add comfort to many
hearts. We are sure he will not
stop his prayers for the unity
of people and a peaceful society
where every lives under the same
amberella of peace and love.
We
were proud to be the only Muslim
family who attended the
ceremonies of changing his
status to the Bishop at Vatican
9 or ten years ago. As soon as
he gave us over the phone the
surprising pleasant news of the
event, we booked our flight and
hotel in order to be
available in Rome/Vatican merely
for this event. We could
discover the amount of love
people have towards him.
He
used to visit us in Eid
occasions in London to
contribute in our occasion.
His
departure is a great loss for
brother, family, relatives,
friends

I
was deeply saddened to learn of
the passing away of Bishop
Andreas Abouna. I first met him
in 1991 when he attended the
Symposium Syriacum VI Conference
in Cambridge. For 20 years, I
had very fruitful and productive
contacts with Bishop Andreas,
both during his incumbency in
London and after his return to
Iraq. He was an inspiration to
all, with a deep love of both
his faith, parishioners and his
country.

Dear
bereaved Hierarchy Of the
Chaldean Church,
What
a terrible loss for the entire
Christian family of Iraq, what a
tragedy for the sister Chaldean
Church throughout the world,
what a shock for us all who knew
and loved the gentle soul, the
perfect gentleman, the humble
prince of the Church Archbishop
Andraous Abouna.
With the demise of Archbishop
Abouna the Churches in Iraq lost
a dedicated clergyman, a
champion for the cause of Iraqi
Christians and indeed a
respected bishop who still had
the time to serve the Church he
loved with his entire being.
But Almighty God's will was
otherwise for He wanted Bishop
Andraous to be with Him in the
abode of our Lord's glory. May
God's will be done on earth as
it is in Heaven.
On this very sad occasion and on
behalf of the Council of the
Christian Church Leaders of Iraq
and personally I convey
heartfelt condolences to His
Beatitude Cardinal Emmanuel
Dalli, to the Chaldean Church
clergymen and faithful, and to
Archbishop Andraous's
grieving family, and loyal
friends.
We pray that God receive the
just soul of Archbishop Andraous
Abouna into His eternal presence
and grant him unending peace
with the saints in paradise;
amen.
Archbishop Avak Asadourian, Ph.

Council of Christian Church

Greetings in our
Lord,
Toward the end
of last year, we lift up
our prayers in behave of his
Excellency bishop Andraous
Abouna while he was battling a
serious kidney problem. Today,
the Lord has ended his
suffering and called him
home and with heavy heart,
tears, and brokenness, I request
your prayers again for his soul
to be united with our merciful
Lord forever in peace.
His Excellency
was very close friend, dear
brother, humble priest, and
dedicated bishop, but above all
he was a child of God. I worked
with him very closely in our
Lord's field many years and his
genuine example has positively
impacted many young man and
women that today are raising
great Christian families (praise
the Lord for that).
He will be missed
greatly, by his family, friends,
and all clergy who knew him. May
his memory inspire your live and
get you closer to our Saviour,
Jesus Christ.
Blessings,
